The hard work of the Food Standards Agency and its annual Food Safety Week (4th-10th July) has meant that consumers are more aware than ever before of hygiene levels and cleanliness when eating out.
One area that could be detrimental to operators is the hot drink station; open jugs and spilt milk can leave a bad impression on customers, with 60% of consumers having concerns over how long milk has been left out, if the milk jug has been contaminated or whether the jug has been cleaned properly*.
For a simple solution to keep areas tidy, caterers can chuck the jug and replace it with Millac Maid Mini Pots. The peel-and-pour, premium long life whitener is the market leading mini pot brand and the hygienic way to serve hot drinks – the biggest driver for consumers opting for the trusted pot over open milk jugs*.
Simon Muschamp, Head of Marketing at Pritchitts, explains:
“When it comes to scores on the doors one area food safety officers look at is the cleanliness of the building. We all know how messy self-service hot drink stations can get during busy periods, with milk regularly spilt and jugs handled by hundreds of people on a daily basis.
“Millac Maid Mini Pots offer practical benefits to both consumers and operators concerned about hygiene, providing the same great taste of fresh milk^ but in a convenient no mess, no waste format. In fact, nearly 7 out of 10 caterers believe mini pots are the most hygienic way to serve hot drinks*.”
Making tea taste great for thirty years, one-cup Millac Maid Mini Pots are an effective way to keep hot drink stations clean and tidy and – unlike fresh milk – are easy to store, have a long shelf-life and minimises wastage through perfect portion control.
Offering premium quality and celebrating Pritchitts Irish farming heritage, Millac Maid Mini Pots come in both full-fat and half-fat versions and are sold in cases of 120x12ml or 240x12ml pots. The full-fat option is also available in cases of 480x10ml pots.
Pritchitts is the foodservice division of Lakeland Dairies, one of the largest farmer-owned dairy co-operatives in Ireland. On a daily basis quality milk is collected from 2,200 farms, where cows graze on lush green pastures in a fifteen county catchment area within the island of Ireland.
*300 consumers, Toluna Survey, April 2015 + 150 caterers surveyed April 2015 ^ At Leatherhead Food Research facilities, consumers tested both tea with Half Fat Millac Maid and tea with pasteurised semi-skimmed milk. Results show that an equal number of consumers believed that tea with Millac Maid tasted like tea with fresh milk.
